

Chad is neighbour to several crises affected countries and hosts hundreds of thousands of refugees, returnees and internally displaced people fleeing crisis and political instability. Meanwhile, migrants heading to North Africa continue to travel on Chadian routes, with little information on the conditions they face on the journey nor in their final destinations.
IMPACT first started working in Chad through its initiative REACH in 2015, conducting regular multi-sectoral needs assessments to inform humanitarian response planning and coordination.

IMPACT Initiatives, notably via its REACH, AGORA, and PANDA initiatives, is increasingly committing research efforts to inform the aid community on how to tackle climate risk. The objective? To identify evidence-based solutions that can be applied in fragile contexts to strengthen the resilience of communities. How? By conducting scientifically robust risk assessments, working with local actors to develop a better understanding of risk, and building local analytical and communication capacities.
